The number of people injured in a plane fire at a Busan airport has increased to seven, with all injuries reported as minor, fire officials confirmed on Wednesday.

On Tuesday night, an Air Busan flight scheduled to depart for Hong Kong caught fire near its tail while preparing for takeoff at Gimhae International Airport, prompting the emergency evacuation of all 176 passengers and crew members.

According to Busan fire authorities, seven individuals are currently receiving medical attention for injuries linked to the incident.

Initially, only three injuries were reported, but after further evaluation, the figure was revised to seven.

Among the injured, four were crew members who experienced chest discomfort due to inhaling smoke, while the other three—a woman in her 70s and two people in their 50s—complained of pain in their lower backs and tailbones.

As of Wednesday, Gimhae International Airport was operating as usual, with 279 scheduled flights proceeding without disruption, except for eight Air Busan flights that were canceled.
